Frequently Asked Questions
What happens next?If you would like to find out more about how counselling works and how I could help you, then please telephone and we could arrange an initial meeting. When you ring you may get my answerphone, but if you leave your name and telephone number I will certainly get back to you later that day. Alternatively, it may be easier for you to email me (just click on the email address link at the top of my website) and I will reply to you by the following day.
What happens on the first meeting?
This would be an opportunity for us to meet and for you to ask any questions which you may have about how I work and what you can expect from counselling. All counsellors have their individual way of working and I believe it is important that a client meets the counsellor to decide whether this feels right for them.
How much does it cost?
I charge £25 per session, each session lasting for one hour.
How often would I need to be seen?
I usually recommend seeing a client weekly initially, but this does varies considerably according to an individual's needs.
What qualities can I expect from you as a counsellor?
I practice within the BACP Ethical Framework and adhere to the principles of confidentiality and professional practice. I treat my clients with acceptance, dignity, and respect. I believe myself to be a warm, approachable, personality, and I consider the therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor to be paramount in the counselling process. I ensure that my clients feel they are in a safe, trusting, caring, environment.
